"Although manpower is recruited in RAB from different forces through selection a process, there have been some unpleasant incidents [reported against RAB men]. In this case, the policy of RAB is to pursue zero-tolerance," he told reporters after a meeting at the force's headquarters as it stepped into its ninth year on Monday.
Mentioning that the RAB has also a cell to investigate allegations against its members, the RAB director general said, "None will be spared."
He also said a robbery case was filed recently against the RAB men involved in looting over Tk 20 million from a shrine, Talsara Darbar at Anwara upazila in Chittagong.
"Everything is going on as per rules," he added.
Mukhlesur inaugurated a three-day programme by hoisting the national flag marking the 41st Independence Day and 9th founding anniversary of RAB.
He told the function that the RAB personnel have to perform their duty keeping away from personal gains and revenge.
The elite force chief urged the force members to stay alert so that no innocent person is victimised and human rights are not violated.
About the murder of journalist couple Meherun Runi and Sagar Sarowar, the RAB official said, "All cases aren't same. So, it's taking time. No case has remained a mystery in the past. We're hopeful of positive outcome in this case, too."
Listing the successes of the force, he said the RAB men are playing a crucial role in curbing militancy, terrorism, extremism, and firearms and drug trade.
The RAB chief claimed that the force has been working to ensure human rights since its formation on Mar 26, 2004.
The paramilitary force has faced severe criticism at home and abroad for extra-judicial killings in the name of encounter, crossfire, gunfights, shootouts and gun-battle.
